MY MEDITATION JOURNEY
From the age of sixteen I've been on a profound spiritual journey, having first experienced a calling to search for greater connection and meaning in my life when I read Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. I found myself drawn to Zen Buddhism, which beautifully complemented the music that has woven its way through my life's work. Indeed, no matter where my life has taken me (and it's taken me quite literally all over the world!) I've always found myself returning to the piano, applying what I've learned to its keys, letting the notes become meditations, breaths of sound, expanding into the space around me.
While I explored many traditions, there was a persistent opaque quality to unveiling expanded consciousness. It wasn't until I discovered Vedic Meditation that I found a clarity and the answers to questions that had long lingered for me. It was as if every note I had played, every moment of stillness I had experienced, had been leading me here. For over 12 years, I have steeped myself in Vedic Meditation, following the mantra’s vibration like music, letting it expand and deepen my awareness. A mantra, after all, is like a song, a sound that carries you beyond yourself, into the infinite.
To deepen my understanding and experience, I immersed in three months of rigorous teacher training at the Veda Center, and since then I have found myself in a place where these teachings, these realizations, this path, can be offered to others. It is a path where sound and silence meet, where breath becomes prayer, and where every moment is an invitation to return to the rhythm of life itself.
